Toyota Land Cruiser Valve Cover Oil Caps

Oil is life for these old Toyota Land Cruisers; thus, keeping a lid on that oil once it’s in the engine is paramount! We predominantly work on FJ40, FJ55, FJ60, FJ62, FJ80, and FZJ80 Land Cruisers here, so keeping these oil caps in stock is common practice.

The oil cap players are left to Right (1, 2, 3, 4).

While on our great oil cap quest, we found this illustration referring to both the original “rubber cap” (12181-31020) and the plastic version (12180-13010). In that instance, both caps were listed with the same part number, the original part number. It is easy to see that the cap on the left is the original “rubber type,” and the cap on the right is the newer “plastic type”; thus, we have indicated the appropriate part numbers. This “transition” happened in 1971. See the table below.
