Monday (2/17/2025): Colorado Springs, CO. In the meantime, between snow storms… If you have them, use them! We have two 1960-era FJ40s in the shop, so we sat out to simi-recreate the 1967 Toyota Land Cruiser brochure.  The mint green one is a 1964 FJ40, and the white one is a 1962 FJ40, technically for sale: “BARN FIND – Rescued Rare 1962 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser.”

Our recreations below:

It was a Monday morning, and Justin (owner of Red Line) said that the ’64 was leaving the shop back to the owner on Wednesday. The weather will be snowy again in the next couple of days, so we should pull these two rigs out and try to replicate the original 1967 Toyota Land Cruiser brochure! HECK YEAH! We swept the remaining snow (from the previous days, off the front of the building, where we have a clean wall and the right angle of sunlight that closely resembles the original brochure.

We had to make a couple of versions…

First, we dragged the step ladder out from the shop to see if we could get the same height and angle as the ’67 Toyota brochure. But that was not enough, so we wheeled the ADV80 into place and got up on top to see if that would provide enough angle, and that worked out pretty well. We slapped the Canon 7D onto the Manfrotto tripod and started firing off the images.
