Do you use Jerry cans to transport additional fuel for long adventures? Don’t dead-lift forty pounds of fuel up in the air using some flimsy spout to get that five gallons of fuel into your rig! The safe and innovative way to transfer fuel from a jerry can into your vehicle is with the use of the Original Safety Siphon. Click the image above to watch the video and see how easy this works!

At Red Line Land Cruisers, we only stock gear we trust—the kind of quality that performs flawlessly when you need it most, whether you’re topping off in the backcountry or transferring fuel in your garage. That’s why we carry The Original Safety Siphon®.
This product has a backstory in that it was initially brought to us by our marketing dude, Rodney Wills, owner of a 1992 FJ80 dubbed the ADV80. (IH8MUD Build & Adventure Thread). Rodney was initially based out of Southern California before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado. While in SoCal, he wheeled with the Yotamasters Crew, which had its shop based in Corona, California. Back in 2015, the plan was laid out to undertake a large desert trip that would require extra fuel to be carried, allowing for the coverage of the remote desert route. Two five-gallon Jerry Cans from Front Runner Outfitters for this excursion.

Always bet on black!

At our refueling lunch break, this would be my first experience lifting these Jerry cans. It was awkward and heavy to hold the Jerry can precariously up to the ADV80’s filler neck. Yes, there was spillage. Yes, there was frustration. Yes, there had to be a better way that I had yet to discover.
This dude! This dude right here showed me the way! Brian Kirwin is his name, and that is his Toyota Pickup Truck riding on BFG PROJECTS! What’s so special about this particular BFGoodrich tire? These are the tires that Baja legends have been made on, and back then, they were only available to race teams! But isn’t that a bit of a large-heavy tire to be pulling with a 22RE? Not when it is sporting a “hair-dryer” forced induction! Yes, this little Toyota is a factory turbo example, and this fine Toyota is also equipped with a Howe Performance hydro-assist power steering setup to navigate those BFG Projects through the narrow passages.
After my refueling ordeal, I walked over to Brian, who was already eating his lunch. I asked if he was going to refuel here? He replied that he already had refueled. I responded that I did not see him struggling with his fuel cans. He quipped back, “Look at me, I’m too handsome to be struggling with heavy fuel cans up in the air!” I was a bit confused and asked how he refueled so quickly. He pulled out a bag, and from the bag he pulled out a hose, but this hose was equipped with a brass fitting on the end.
My memory flashed back to growing up in the country, with a cut-off hose pipe and spitting diesel or gas out of my mouth! Brian demonstrated how this “jiggler hose” worked, and I was in SHOCK AND AMAZEMENT! THIS IS THE WAY! The way of the OG Jiggler Hose, aka the Original Safety Siphon! This moment has been forever engraved into my desert adventure experiences! Thank you to Eric of Yotamasters and Dan & Monica of BB-Tank Supply for always including me on all these trips! Forever grateful! – Rodney Wills
