We have been making all the parts to install the Holley 2300 Series 2BBL Sniper Kit 550-850 onto your 1f / 2F FJ40 / FJ60 as complete kits for some time now, but with the aid of a dynamometer, we’ve pinpointed some known issues and made several “test items” to aid the issue which we are now releasing as the Red Line Velocity Inlets.

In 2025 we added the use of the Dynocom 1200-Series DC Pod Dual-Hub Dynamometer for both carburetor tuning as well as EFI tuning – inhouse! Now we can digitally blueprint the analog world of carburetors and systematically tune EFI systems no matter the weather condition outside! Yes, our shop sits at 6,200-ft. of elevation and we do get our fair share of snow and messy roads. No more road-tuning-learning!

We knew there was a 60% throttle issue and wanted to explore how to get closer to a “full throttle” experience. With the ability to dyno-test in a controlled environment, we have logged our fair share of dyno time with the Holley EFI system on these 2F engines. 

But, let’s start with our fundamental issue with the Holley Sniper 2300 2BBL EFI Headunit, which was made for larger displacement engines that are also turning more RPM. Through “dyno-research” of our EFI equipped inline six low rpm engines, we’ve designed a way to decrease the airflow of the headunit while increasing the velocity of air going into the headunit – throttle body. This allows us to seek our top end power without over-throttling, or bogging down the engine, giving us smoother throttle response and drivability.

  
The simple-install drop-in design of the Red Line Velocity Inserts decrease the overall CFM entering the engine while also increasing the velocity of air for a better overall throttle response, especially at altitude. After dropping in the Velocity Inserts, on our first dyno-pull, we noticed significant throttle response and horsepower gain before the system even had a chance to run the learning curve!
