This Toyota Ventilation Valve Sub-Assembly, also known as the PCV Valve, is a critical component within the Engine-Fuel category and is integral to the 3FE Ventilation Hose System. Its primary function is to manage the release of gases from the crankcase into the intake manifold, aiding the engine’s overall efficiency.
The PCV, or Positive Crankcase Ventilation system, serves several purposes. Primarily, it was developed to reduce emissions, but it also doubles as a mechanism to reduce crankcase pressure. Reducing crankcase pressure was important long before emissions became a concern, and the PCV system was a simple yet effective way to address both problems efficiently. The PCV system allows for cleaner exhaust, prevents blowby at seals and gaskets, removes crankcase gases generated by the combustion process that can sludge up and damage the engine if left unchecked, and enables the engine to run more efficiently, resulting in improved fuel mileage.
If there is a potential ounce of fuel mileage to be gained in a 3FE-powered FJ62 or behemoth 80-Series chassis, it is well worth the effort! But we know that is not real. It is all about the longevity of our 3FEs! Our in-house 80-Series has 331,000 on the 3FE engine.

To reduce HC emissions, crankcase blow-by gas is routed through the PCV valve to the intake manifold for combustion in the cylinders.
