Oil Pan Gasket, 3FE, FJ80 and FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser
If you are replacing the oil pan gasket on your Toyota 3FE engine or any Land Cruiser engine, it is all about the torque specification of the twenty-two bolts holding the oil pan in place. Toyota specifies the torque based on the overall torque load to the cork gasket. Overtightening the bolts squeezes the cork gasket to the point of leaking on a brand-new gasket! When installing the oil pan gasket, we use No.2 Gasket Sealer or RTV at the corners and a tiny bit along the “U-shape” saddle.
