Toyota knew this, and when designing the air filtration system on the Land Cruiser, they equipped it with this canister-style air filtration system because it works great in the dirt! What is EXTRA SPECIAL is that when Toyota contracted Denso to make these filters, Toyota asked for the air filter to be WASHABLE!

YES, WASHABLE! BUT NO! No, you can not put the air filter in with your weekend’s dirty wheeling laundry! But these filters are truly washable! But here is the caveat of being able to wash the filter: It needs to be dry before putting it back into your Land Cruiser canister housing and starting to drive! Our ADV80 owner rotates two filters, allowing the freshly washed filter to dry without missing drive time.
