3FE Cylinder Head with LS Valves, Rebuilt and Ready to Install

This is a Toyota 3FE cylinder head that has Stage-1 Small Block LS Valves for a 7 – 10% H.P. increase. Give your FJ62 or FJ80 Land Cruiser more power for the next phase of it’s life! You know you need the power bump as you’ve added taller wheels (and you didn’t re-gear yet!), heavy steel bumpers, winch, drawer-system, RTT or a roof rack, jerry cans and who knows what else in the name of overland adventure!
So yes, 10% horse power increase is still not enough, but it’s something! For every 100 pounds of increase or decrease is a 10th of a second added/subtracted in the quarter mile time, not that we are drag racing here, but it is the true effect of weight vs horse power. You want more power to haul your gear up the mountain! Or you are going to need a lower “granny gear” to haul your gear up the mountain. Better make sure your four-way flashers are fully operational as you will be hanging out with the 18-wheelers in the slow lane. Yes, we know, you are just looking for the first dirt road! We have a 3FE UNDER-powered FJ80 on staff that uses this same excuse!

Your 3FE powered 1989 FJ62 came with a massive 155 horsepower and a curb weight of approximately 4,480 pounds. A power-to-weight ratio of 0.0346 horsepower per pound (hp/lb) translates roughly to a 17.9 to 19.2 second quarter-mile elapsed time (ET), with a trap speed of approximately 76 mph. That is most likely at sea-level. *Now start adding elevation!
You can play with the numbers yourself – start adding the weight and see what happens.

*Then, for those of us living in and around the Rocky Mountain Range within Colorado, we have this thing called ELEVATION aka NO AIR! You want every advantage possible. Give our blog post a read: ELEVATION DOESN’T CARE!
