Holley Fuel Pump Gas Tank Template And Instructions for FJ40 – Red Line Land Cruisers

This is the final result you are looking for. Let’s install your Holley Sniper Fuel Pump into your FJ40 Land Cruiser fuel tank. We are viewing this from the passenger side of the vehicle. These are the instructions for installing the Holley EFI fuel pump when using the 1F / 2F Sniper Fuel Line Kit.

With the template cut out from the downloaded template, this is where you will place it.
Note the tank’s orientation as viewed from the right side of the vehicle.

Please check the measurements with the FJ40 Tank Hole template cut to size. Ensure your printer is set to print at 100% of the print size.

Note the “arrow” on the template – noting the vacuum tubes and the orientation of the template.

You will want to remove some of the foam padding as this is where your hole will be going.

Check and double-check your work as this requires a “bullseye” hit!

With a center punch, you will indicate your drill hole location.

With a 3.25″ hole saw, drill a hole into the gas tank.

Make sure you clean all the metal shaving and debris up from inside the gas tank.

This portion of the job will require your patience. With the filter sock attached, you will slowly test-fit the tube’s depth to the bottom of the tank. Note the direction of the filter sock in the photo below.

Note the orientation of the filter sock. The short end of the sock will “ramp up” a bit on the inside of the tank wall.

Note that the return hose is bent outward and does not dump directly at the fuel pickup location. We used light heat to bend the tube. The image below shows it a bit better. Refer to the Holley fuel pump instruction manual, as this is noted there—they said to use hot water to bend the hose.

Now, the Holley in-tank fuel pump is ready to drop in.
Note the orientation of the fuel inlet and return A/N fittings.
We typically point these towards the vehicle’s center as the fuel lines will drop down through the floor using our bulkhead kit.

We will soon update you with another template for the outer fuel tank cover as we will cut a hole in it to allow clearance for the fuel pump.
We will need to update this post to include the fuel tank cover as well.
