DAY NINE: The Red Line Land Cruisers Spring Epic Overland Trip 2022

Photos & Story: Rodney Wills [Saturday – March 26, 2022] Today we are up early and heading home from just outside Moab, Utah – Dewy Bridge. While this blog post will be short, don’t forget it we’ve yet to share DAY-3! The “EPIC DAY” of our SpringEpic22 Trip! Not many photos today as we are simply tarmac’ing our way home, but for me, this is an impressive “welcome home” view! Why did we even leave the state?

Well, snow for one… but too, I’m the newbie here. These guys all grew up here and want to escape to the desert whereas I spent most of my wheeling time in the deserts of Southern California. I totally see myself getting a stove-tent for some winter camping! I’ve watched a ton of the Off-Grid Backcountry Adventures videos!!! As I am already dreaming about remote location adventures, we are rolling back into civilization. 

Civilization is a funny thing… We have been out “roughing it” for 8-days now and you can totally feel how we are connected to it… We have the feeling of, “let’s restock the supplies and head back out!” That’s when you know you have the “Adventure Virus” and simply yearn to get back out and explore! Lots of configuring “how do we do this full time?” goes on in the head, but life is such a sliding scale of responsibilities and sacrifices. If only we knew then what we know now… Life is such!

Funny thing about COLORADO! Colorado is such a prideful state! Seriously! I come from a super touristy town within Southern California and Colorado Pride Merchandise has SoCal by a mile!!! Or two!

We notice a thing… Bryan’s Walker Evans Racing Beadlock wheels are literally popping at the seams! We didn’t weight the XJ down that much! hehehe OK, First item on the XJ’s TO DO LIST in preparation for it’s next trip.
