Up for sale from a Red Line Land Cruisers customer is this red 1969 Toyota LandCruiser FJ40.
Owner description: 1969 Toyota FJ 40 Land Cruiser with 56,600 original miles. All original except for the rims. F145 inline 6 runs strong. This unit has the 3 speed transmission and shifts on the column. 4 wheel drive works good. New parts include: battery, starter, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, thermostat, water pump, new hoses, new belt, reconditioned radiator, new exhaust system, recent tuneup (new plugs, wires, new points, condenser, cap and rotor). The tires are Interco Super Swampers and have lots of wear left. I have the pto unit for this rig. Presently, it’s not mounted on the transfer case. I have extra oil filters as well. I am the third owner of this well cared for Cruiser. Very little rust. Must see to appreciate. Who needs a road? Price has recently been lowered and is negotiable.
Truck is in great condition mechanically and the body has very little rust for a 40 y/o vehicle. It currently is wrapped in a mossy oak finish but the body and paint under the wrap is in good condition. Super low gears are incredible for rock crawling and the hard top and full camo wrap makes it a great truck for hunting.

If you’re looking to repair, install or troubleshoot your original Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, FJ45, or FJ55 AM Radio, below is a document you can either print out or view online that provides directions for any Panasonic, Fujitsu 10 (Ten Audio), or Matsushita radio. The manual says it’s for a Toyota Carina, but we’re almost positive this is the exact same radio that goes in an FJ40.
TIP: use the “full screen” button in the bottom right corner for better viewing and printing.

Colorado-based FJ (always buy FJs from dry states like Colorado!)
The current presentation is a bit rough, but this is a great candidate for a full-blown restoration as it is completely original! An aluminum 3/4 tub from Aqualu (Part #4005 – $3,300+$800 shipping from Canada) and a better hard top ($1,000)
Original F engine (straight six) runs strong
Recently tuned up
New brake master cylinder
Odometer reads 92,000 miles (not sure if this is original or not)
A lot of information is available for the short wheel base FJ40 (BJ40) and for the FJ45 (BJ45) long wheel base Toyota Land Cruisers. But there is very limited information on the Medium Wheel Base FJ43 (BJ43) model, unofficial reports state that less than 20 of these vehicles exist in the US and this is the next one. The MWB FJ/BJ43 are 14 inches longer than standard 40 series, making for a better ride and cargo space. This is a beautiful 1982 BJ43 (diesel), which is even rarer than the gasoline engine. It is powered by a mighty 2.9 diesel engine. Matching numbers – VIN BJ43004804 Engine number 0568778 The truck is in excellent condition, 100% rust free, underwent a recent restoration, has been pampered all of its life. Runs great, has correct color code paint, Toyota16″ heavy duty split rims, 7.00 X 16 tires, engine runs perfectly, new softop using correct 1982 material, all of the documentation including original invoice when car was imported from Japan to Colombia by Ditribuidora Toyota. Car is arriving to Miami at the beginning of October, will be issued a FL title, ready to transfer. You can separate and secure the truck with a $5,000 refundable deposit. This is your opportunity to own the rarest of the Fj series Toyota. FJ40’s, which are much more common, are selling at auctions such as Mecum for between 60k and 80k, prices have increased 35% in a year! Don´t wait any longer get it for a great price and just see as the price sky rockets in the coming years.

A customer of ours is selling this 1972 FJ40. The original F engine was recently rebuilt by another mechanic in Colorado (not Red Line) and after only 2,000 miles the engine threw a rod and is currently out of commission. Either rebuild the engine, replace it (Red Line has one that can be swapped out), or have a V8 installed.

Warn 8274 winch works great
Here are the down sides (at least according to a FJ purist who appreciates an all-original FJ40):
1) Obviously, the biggest down side is that the engine blew a rod. That said, everything else in this rig is pretty much brand new and you can tell it was cared for. From the Toyota emblems, to the radiator, brake lights, coil, and other interior parts, you can see that that the person cared about having NOS Toyota parts replaced. If you’re handy and can rebuild the engine yourself, you’re going to have a really nice rig at a steal of a price. Even if you pay someone to rebuild the engine, you’ll still be ahead at $5,500.
2) The paint job is just okay. It looks nice and presents extremely well, but it’s not a top of the line, $6000 paint job. Of course, this is not a $25,000 asking price, either. So, for what it is, the paint job is really pretty nice and it’s a head-turner the way it is.
3) The interior wasn’t painted to match. The dash is green and the interior doors are black. It doesn’t look awful, but if I were looking to keep this rig and restore it, I would either look to match the interior with the same color as the exterior or do the body and the paint right.
4) The metal is in good shape with the exception of the rear corners and a small bit of rust by the rockers. The fenders are beautiful, as is the hood, apron, rear barn doors, front doors, front windshield frame and interior floor boards. The underbody is in really good shape, as is to be expected for a Colorado vehicle.
5) There is some overspray on the steering wheel, but this should easily be cleaned up
